Dr. Benjamin Harvey is a pioneering technologist and entrepreneur with deep expertise in AI, data science, and cryptology. He is the Founder and former CEO of AI Squared, and currently serves as a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins University and Research Professor at The George Washington University.
A three-time HBCU graduate, Dr. Harvey earned his Ph.D. from Bowie State University and his joint Cryptologic Computer Science degree through the National Cryptologic School at NSA in partnership with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) and University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), further advancing his training through the Harvard–MIT post-graduate program.
During his distinguished tenure at the National Security Agency (NSA), he rose to become Chief of Data Science and AI, leading major efforts including the agency’s data science response during the Edward Snowden leaks, and pioneering advances in cryptologic analysis and intelligence-scale AI.
He later held leadership roles in industry, including at Databricks, translating cutting-edge research into enterprise solutions.
